     Mane Tatulyan

Can you give a brief intro on who you are and where you are based?
I am a writer and designer. After finishing my design university studies and professionally developing in the design world, I decided to pursue a career in philosophy and theory by studying a MA in Philosophy. I am based in Yerevan, Armenia now.

How did you get into this line of work?
I was always interested in systems –systems and organization. Design was my way of organising the world and, philosophy, my way of understanding it.

What do you like most about being a designer? What do you like least?
Most: the reduction of the gap between mind and reality. Least: design as a tool only for marketing.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
A writer. And it's not coincidence that I was always into typography –as it is the written part of design.

Who was your greatest mentor?
The Swiss School and Bauhaus.

What style do you most identify with?
The Swiss School and Bauhaus, once more!

What's your biggest barrier to being a designer?
The constant subjugation of design to marketing.

What are you working on at the moment?
My second book.

Where else can we find you?
